North Transfer Station - Translucent Walls

Project ID: 38306
Seattle is one of the most sustainable cities in the US and is well-known for its renewable energy efforts and goals. One of the many ways the city prioritizes being "green" is through the different Transfer Stations designed to process waste. Rebuilt as a modern and efficient state-of-the-art facility, the North Transfer Station effectively serves Seattle by processing about 400 tons of material each day. Even the construction of the facility itself took its "green" goals to heart to earn LEED Gold certification, using sustainable and energy-efficient materials including 11,700 sq. ft. of our UniQuad® and Quadwall® translucent systems to provide daylighting on the main floor. Our systems are both functional, by adjusting automatically to occupancy and light conditions in the space, and aesthetic through the ice white glazing color that presents a tranquil lakefront face to facility guests and passerby.
