BWI Airport Concourse E - Translucent Skylight System
Project ID: 41284
2016 was a milestone year for the Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport: for the first time, the airport had over 25 million annual passengers. It has been the region's busiest airport for the past few years since, and in a bid to better accommodate its travelers and guests, BWI decided to build a brand new and improved International Terminal. As part of their $60 million renovation project to support growing traffic to the airport, 7,800 sq. ft. of our Quadwall® translucent skylight system was installed over the new International Terminal's six-gate Concourse E expansion. Specified in ice white and clear matte glazing, the skylight provides an abundance of glare-free natural daylighting and brings a unique, modern vibe to the new concourse. At night, blue lighting follows the system's curves and bends to transform the skylight into an eye-catching art installation.
